I wanted to study abroad in Barcelona to improve my Spanish and grow as a person., Human towers are formed by castellers standing on the shoulders of one another making several levels., Given that the tradition of Castells is so important in Catalunya, I have learned a lot about the Catalan culture and people through my friends in las Arreplegats., In the beginning of this semester, some serious personal issues occurred in my life and my friends in Castellers were there for me., I have seen first-hand how globalization has changed the jamón (ham) industry, making it one of the most exported products in all of Spain.

It’s the first ‘work’ day of the week and for most study abroad kids, you probably just came off of an awesome weekend exploring your home city or a different country., I’m missing my family and friends a lot, trying to adjust to all of the different aspects and ways of life has been quite challenging., I’ve been thinking about how I can get out of this funk for a few days, and now I finally realize what has been making me happy., I miss my family and friends a lot, and when I go to certain places, try certain food, or even do certain activities, I wish they could be there along side me experiencing it, too., My family and friends have been the biggest supporters in my life and I couldn’t thank them enough for being there for me, especially these past few days when things are getting tough.

You grow as a person so much during study abroad, that it’s harder to come back to everything that is familiar than it is actually going abroad., My friends partner ziplining in Monteverde!, My friends and I are planning to keep in touch, and my host family and I are even trying to think of easy ways to stay in touch., For me, my first study abroad gave me the travel bug, and I’m already trying to plan another trip to Latin America to meet up with my new friends and to finish exploring everything I didn’t get the chance to, in addition to finding a job abroad this summer., After studying abroad twice and being close to graduating college, I’m making every effort to make sure travel is apart of my future.

My Experience with CEA French Riviera

Throughout my entire study abroad experience, I have been extremely impressed with CEA (and this is not because I am blogging for them)., home away from home Another thing different about CEA that I didn't find with other study abroad providers is all the excursions they take us on., Learned about wine making at a vineyard with a wine tasting, volunteer on Nettoyons La Nature in Theoule Sur Mer., The dinner was amazing (of course, we're in France), very different than an America Thanksgiving dinner but the concept of friends gathering together to celebrate what they are thankful for remained the same.
